A Personal Way to Get Back on Track
The house is run by an American who first came to Villafranca del Bierzo as a pilgrim. After walking the Camino, he felt the desire to remain connected to the journey and the community that is created in it.
He left behind a long corporate career in the United States, took early retirement, moved alone to Spain and opened Casa El Colibrí as a personal and sincere way to give back to the Camino part of what he had received.
For Pilgrims Only
Casa El Colibrí exclusively welcomes pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago. Guests can choose between private rooms with en suite bathrooms, which offer rest and privacy, or a shared room with single beds for those who enjoy the more communal side of the Camino.
Common Spaces
Throughout the house, the common spaces invite you to share without obligation: places to eat together, exchange stories or simply enjoy a moment of calm. A serene and restorative space where you can truly disconnect after a day on the road.
